Delilah Jane Risty
Delilah Jane Risty, daughter of Wilbur and Margaret Crowe, was born January 29, 1931 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Delilah “Dee” was united in marriage on February 3, 1951, to Wayne Risty. Dee and Wayne bought a house and raised their family in the Hilltop area of Sioux Falls.
Dee worked for Hy-Vee, after retiring from K-Mart, up until the time she was unable to work due to illness. She enjoyed all the people she met while working. Dee also loved going to craft shows, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dee was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan as well as a Minnesota Twins fan. She named her cat Kirby after Twins great Kirby Puckett. Kirby was Dee's loving companion for the last five years.
She was a long time member of St. Lambert's Parish, including raising her children there, and participating in different events and fundraisers for the Parish.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters, Colleen Westerlund and her husband, Kim of Land O Lakes, FL; Susan Moore and her husband, Earl of Montrose, MN; her son, Randy Risty and his wife, Mary of Colton, SD; five grandchildren, Travis (Annie) Moore, Tonia (Kyle) Swanson, Brian (Kelly) Risty, Megan (Josh) Scheelar, and Josh Risty; four great- grandchildren, Tara, Lila, Jayla and Caleb; her sisters, Vivian Wehling and Donna (Eugene) Schnider, and one brother, James (Linda) Crowe, and many other relatives and friends. Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her brother, Lee Crowe; and her sister, Mary Lou Daggett.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM followed by the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 1:30 PM at St. Lambert Parish with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
