Richard Rotert was born March 22, 1941 in Salem SD to Bernard and Mary (Hoff) Rotert. He grew up in Salem, SD and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. He attended USD and moved to Sioux Falls where he lived the remainder of his life. Richard worked at Sioux Steel for several years and finished his career in a variety of sales positions.

He attended any event his grandkids were involved in. He loved spending time with his family and his love language generally involved food. Richard could often be found in the lobby of his apartment where he acted as the resident social coordinator. Richard’s love of the Green Bay Packers was obvious to everyone but he had a general love of all sports and was usually watching a game.
