Ralph James Croft

Ralph James Croft, a lifelong resident of Sioux Falls, passed away on September 24, 2024, at the age of 74, while under hospice care at home, surrounded by his loving daughter, Jeanna. 

Born on July 5, 1950, to Donald and Ramona Croft, Ralph was a standout athlete at Lincoln High School, class of 1969. Although an unforeseen circumstance derailed his NFL prospects, he was honored with the Key to the City. 

Ralph married Donna Jean Hualapai in 1971 and raised three children. He enjoyed a long career at Henry Carlson Construction. 

Ralph's life was marked by his faith, love, and simplicity. His legacy lives on through his children: Jeanna and her special friend, Don Deloof, James Croft , Grant and his wife Julie Croft; along with his grandchildren: Ashley and Darius Dodson, Shayla Shaver, Parker and Miley Croft; along with five great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. Ralph is preceded in death by his wife Donna, parents, Donald and Ramona, sister Karen, and brothers Charles and Tracy.

Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 10:30 AM at the Cathedral Of St. Joseph.
