Melissa Sue Weinandt was born on January 28, 1986 to Angela Banks and Christopher Weinandt. She attended school in Sioux Falls and Renner S.D. She was a member of Renner Lutheran Church and remained friends with Pastor Bacon until she passed.

Melissa worked at many jobs, but enjoyed cooking jobs the best. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding people.

While she liked camping and being in nature, her true joy was her family. She spoke daily with her mother and those conversations will be greatly missed.

Her children were her greatest treasure. She spent many years making memories with them that will last a lifetime. This included their dog, Butch and other animals who were treated like family.

Melissa is survived by her son: Vinsinte Weinandt (Kaleena); their daughter: Esmae; daughters: Santina Buckles (Caylen), Jalyssa Tucker, and Journey Rose; mother: Angela (Randy) West; brother: Travis (Janina) Weinandt, and their sons: Theo and Alonzo. In addition to a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and soul sisters and brothers

A Memorial will be Sunday, October 25, 2026 from 1-3pm at The American Legion in Renner. 47410, 258th Street, Renner, S.D.
