Gordon "Gordy" Honerman

Gordon “Gordy” J. Honerman was born on May 27, 1938 in Adrian, MN to Lawrence and Agnes (Hebbelman) Honerman. Gordy passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in Sioux Falls, SD.

Gordy grew up in Adrian, MN. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1956. In 1959 he enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard serving 6 years. Gordon spent over 40 years working in the dairy business. He started his career at the Adrian Creamery. Upon his move to Sioux Falls, SD in 1961 he began working for Sioux Valley Milk Producers before joining Terrace Park Dairy that later became known as Land O’Lakes Dairy.

Gordy was united in marriage to JoAnn Gould on February 4, 1961 in Adrian, MN.

Gordy was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a lifetime member of the Izaak Walton League, serving for many years as the Membership Chairman, President and as a local and state board member. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. 

Gordy will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years: JoAnn (Gould) Honerman; his children: Laurie (Steve) Rogers, Mark (Beth) Honerman, Paul Honerman, Patrick (Barb Kimball) Honerman, and Lisa Stinson; his grandchildren: Sarah Honerman, Seth (Sarah) Honerman, Jason Honerman, Amanda Honerman, Laura Bushman, Tiffany Honerman, Ian (Michael) Keller, Jacob Hoffmeister, Korina Vital and Rachael Vital; 12 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Agnes and 2 brothers: Dwayne and Merlyn and brother-in-law, George Hocking.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 31. 5:00 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 1, 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery will Full Military Rites.
