Mathew Mark Cade
02-21-2021

Mathew Mark Cade, 37, of Colton SD, passed away unexpectedly and too soon at Dougherty Hospice House on Sunday February 21, 2021 in Sioux Falls, SD.

Mathew was born on August 15, 1983 to Kevin and Ronelle (Guest) Cade in Mitchell, SD. Mathew spent most of his life growing up in Sioux Falls SD. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2002. After graduating he had many jobs landscaping, roofing, plumbing but most of his adult years were spent welding.

Mathew enjoyed fishing, carpentry, mechanics, bird watching, spending holidays with his family and relaxing at home. He also enjoyed attending the annual family reunion in the Black Hills. He was so proud when he finally won the horseshoe tournament and got his name on the championship trophy in 2019.

Mathew was a man of few words but he could light up a room with his beautiful smile along with his kind and generous heart. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mathew also had a special place in his heart for all animals. He would take in any animal in need from a cat, Bommer, to a wild wood duck. As a child he would bring home and hide animals in his closet. Even as an adult when living with his sister he snuck in his wild duck until his niece, Braylin, ratted him out.

The last few years he spent all his spare time working on his 1995 Honda Civic Del Sol. He would always say “YouTube can teach you to do anything, mama”.

Gratefully sharing his life are his parents: Kevin and Ronelle (Guest) Cade of Sioux Falls, SD; his sister: Jessie (Josh) Meidinger of Sioux Falls, SD; his nieces: Braylin and Ariah Meidinger; grandmother: Linda (Dewey) Carter; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend: Deb. Preceding him in death were his grandparents: George and Donna (Getman) Guest; grandfather: Dwane Cade; and step-grandmother: Pam Cade.

Mathew you touched many hearts and will be missed more than you could ever imagine. We will never forget you, you will be in our hearts always and forever!

Visitation will be Friday, February 26, 5:00 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM. An additional Memorial Service will be held in Chamberlain, SD at a later date this summer when Mathew is laid to rest next to his grandparents.
