James Timothy Shook

James Timothy Shook of Valley Springs passed away on Friday November 4th, 2022 peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Jim was 67 years old.

He worked at the City of Sioux Falls Reclamation and Landfill for 25 years. Then moved on to Touchmark at All Saint's in maintenance and finished his career at O'Gorman Junior High School. 

Jim and Penny (Schuldt) met in the summer of 1976 and married in 1981. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR racing and Penny's chimichangas. He was a regular at Hussett's Speedway and also raced stock car #91. Jim and Penny enjoyed living on their acreage in Valley Springs being fortunate to see daily wildlife with the peace and quiet. 

Jim will be missed by his children: James Timothy Shook Jr. (Tatiana) and Lisa Lee (Avram); his 4 grandchildren: Mackenzie,Grayson, Cooper and Gianna;  2 great-grandchildren: Lorelei and Llewyn; brother: Bobby Shook (Lou), and sister: Susie Wagner. Along with many nieces and nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Billy Shook; and sisters: Linda Brown and Patty Kraft; father: Bobby Shook; and mother: Ruth (Rethwisch).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
