George Edward Vanderloo,

George Edward Vanderloo, 88, passed away December 26, 2023 in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born August 29, 1935 in Carroll, IA to John Vanderloo and Hilda Schulte. The family later moved to Sioux Falls, SD.

 George graduated from Cathedral High School in 1954, and then went into the Service. He was honorably discharged and moved back and forth from California to Sioux Falls a few times, until he met his bride Esther Zakrzewski. They were married for 64 years.

 George sold insurance for most of his career. He loved Baseball and played as a youngster and as an adult; even playing in the minor league while in California. He is a member of the VFW and enjoyed many good times there with friends and family.

 Four children were born to George and Esther: Terri, Michael, Kyle and Annamarie Vanderloo (Greg Hinz); He is survived by two granddaughters: Jennifer (Pierce) Aman and Stephanie (Brian) McGregor: and one great granddaughter: Kennedy.

 He was a devoted family man and loved his family very much.

 Private family services will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024, 3:00 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
