Eleanor Regina Currey

Eleanor Regina Currey, 94, passed away at the Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD. She was born on March 13, 1929 to Andrew and Augusta Zinda in Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Harold Currey.

Eleanor was a master seamstress. She was known for her craft making golf bags. She also worked in the food service industry including the Minnehaha Country Club, Axtel, Edison and Lincoln Schools. She was a part of the DAV stores and ran a motel for several years.

Eleanor enjoyed gardening, bird watching and fishing. She was known to be a wonderful dancer,

Eleanor is survived by a son: Michael; and a daughter: Suz (Tom) Schluter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, two sisters and Michaels’ partner, Patricia Garity.

Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 12:00 noon with a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
