Matthew Duane Harold Cordell

Matthew Duane Harold Cordell, 22, passed away February 8, 2024 in Sioux Falls. He was born on July 2, 2001 in Sioux Falls, SD to Mike and Corinna (Cori) Cordell. He was baptized at St Nicholas Parish in Tea SD.

Matt attended Discovery Elementary, Memorial Middle School, and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2020. Matt met the love of his life, Anna, in junior year of high school and got married May 30, 2020, the week after graduation.

Matt and Anna were together over 5 years and adopted 5 pets together. Matt’s favorite things included hockey, video games, hunting, fishing, and spending time with lots of family and friends. His love of hockey was infectious and everyone around him loved and supported him. His favorite NHL hockey teams were the Minnesota Wild and the Washington Capitals. Matt enjoyed working at Vern Eide as a detailer. 

Matt is survived by his wife: Anna Cordell (Gullickson); parents: Mike (Cori) Cordell; brothers: Bryan (Rhiannon) Cordell and Ian Cordell; grandmother: Patricia Christopherson; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and the Gullickson family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Duane Elyea; and paternal grandparents: Harold and Marjorie Cordell.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 9:30 AM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM.
