Maryann Rice

MaryAnn Rice, 83, passed away in Sioux Falls on March 13, 2024. She was born on May 12, 1940 in rural Humboldt, SD to Lloyd and Loretta (Beck) Garner.

On September 2, 1961, she was united in marriage to Wayne Rice. They moved from Sioux Falls, SD to California. They lived for several years in Redwood City and Palo Alto, CA. In 2005 MaryAnn and Wayne moved to Larchwood, IA to be closer to family.

MaryAnn was a full-time mom. Although she held other jobs from being a teachers assistant to the food industry. Mary Ann enjoyed collecting dolls and doing word search puzzles. 

Mary Ann is survived by her children: Joe Rice, Napa, CA and Jeff Rice, Larchwood, IA; grandchildren: Jeremy, Amber and Waylon Rice all in CA; great-grandchildren: Sophie, Miles and Nelson all in CA. brother, David (Brenda) Garner, Florida, sisters: Donna (Paul) Dubbelde, Valley Springs, SD and Debbie (Troy) Fleming; sisters-in-laws: Mary Garner, Sioux Falls, SD and Jo Garner, Tea, SD, Aunt: Darlene Katzenberger, Sioux Falls, SD, as well as many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne, sons: John and James, brothers; Jerald Garner and Dan Garner. 

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 25, 10:30 AM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
