Sioux Falls - James "Jim" M. Mathison James "Jim" M. Mathison, 55, died Thursday, June 27 at Avera McKennan Hospice in Sioux Falls. He was born February 14, 1952 to Mervin and Ruth (Nelson) Mathison in Sioux Falls. James graduated from Canton High School in 1970. He joined the Air National Guard and was active for 12 years. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. James is survived by brothers: David (Sheila) Mathison, Canton, SD and Ben (Mary Jo) Mathison, Rock Valley, IA; sisters: Rose (Bud) Coffin, Sioux Falls, SD and Dotty Kelley, Chester, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Bob. Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 8 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with family present from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Service will be Friday, 10 AM at Canton Lutheran Church.
