Tony Lee Weeg 06-11-2024
Tony Weeg, passed away on June 11, 2024, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 67. Tony was born on February 20, 1957, in Sioux Falls, to Dale and Elly Weeg.
Tony worked in the construction industry involving framing and acoustic commercial ceilings as well as Hutchinson Technology and proudly served in the Army from 1974 to 1978. He completed basic training in Fort Riley, Kansas, and went on to complete his tour in Germany.
In his free time, he enjoyed playing card and board games, participating in horseshoe tournaments, collecting sports memorabilia, watching movies, hunting, fishing, and most of all enjoying time with his family and friends. He is survived by his son Anthony, daughter-in-law Trisha, and his five beloved grandchildren (Destiny, Gage, Evangeline, Maxwell, and Junior). He shared his life with his six siblings, brothers, Dale (Georgette), Ricky (Colleen), and Randy (Marley), and sisters Pennee (Richard), Sherry
(Dale), and Christy (Jane). He is preceded in death by his parents Dale and Elly Weeg and brother Ricky Weeg.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, love for his family, and joy for life. His humor was contagious and could make anyone laugh in the most unique and memorable ways. His love for his family was evident in the way he was always present at every family event and encouraged fellowship among the family. His love for his family stems from his father Dale who was a constant reminder that we are stronger together and family is the most important thing in life.
His belief was so strong it has carried to his son Anthony who continues the effort and stresses the importance of family unity. Tony truly enjoyed life and appreciated the little things. He is loved in so many ways by so many people and holds a special place in everyone’s heart.
Rest in peace, Tony. You will be deeply missed.
A Committal Service will be Thursday, June 20, 11:00 AM at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls. A reception will follow the Committal Service at the Renner American Legion, 47416 County Highway 130, Renner, South Dakota.
