Jeremy James Carlson

Jeremy James Carlson was born March 12, 1976 to Michele Wilcox Carlson and James Carlson in Sioux Falls, SD. He was baptized at Risen Savior Catholic Church in Brandon, SD.

He grew up in the Sioux Falls area. On October 5, 1999, he and Katie DeSchepper welcomed a son, Jack DeSchepper. Jack was his pride and joy.

Jeremy enjoyed his extensive career working for B&G Acoustical with his brother and many coworkers. He loved fishing, bow hunting, hiking, and anything to do with nature. He was interested in painting and writing which was shared by his son, Jack. He was an avid collector finding joy in marbles, coins, and antiques. The most important part of his life to which he had unwavering devotion was his son and his family.

Jeremy, 48, passed away at home on August 22nd, 2024 in Brandon, SD. 

Left to cherish his memory are his son: Jack DeSchepper; mother: Michele Carlson; father: James Carlson; brother: Bill Carlson; sister: Katy Carlson; brother-in-law: Steven Carlson; nieces: Emily Carlson, Kaylee Carlson, Joezy Carlson, and Alayna Carlson; nephews: Ethan Carlson, Miles Carlson, and Zander Carlson; grandma: Helen Carlson; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones, and friends. 

Jeremy was preceded in death by grandparents: Derald Wilcox Sr, Shirley Wilcox, and Aldrew Carlson; his uncles: Derald Wilcox Jr, and David Miller; aunts: Linda Wentzel, Cindi Miller, Mary Wilcox, and Sara Wilcox; cousin: Jennifer Burma; and many more family and friends. 

We all love you, Jeremy!

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28, 5:00 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a family led Rosary at 7:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 29, 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
