Tamara “Tammie” Kay (Cink) Olson
09-01-2024

Tamara “Tammie” Kay (Cink) Olson of Charleston, South Carolina passed away September 1, 2024, in Seattle, WA. Family will be present for visitation from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will begin at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, September 13, 2024 at St. Michael Parish in Sioux Falls SD with burial to follow at St. Christina Catholic Cemetery, Parker, SD.

Tamara “Tammie” Kay Olson was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on April 19, 1970 to Alvin “Al” and Dolores “Dee” (Staebell) Cink, and sister to Kevin and David Cink. She graduated from O’Gorman High School (’88) and went on to attend The Art institute of Colorado. After graduation, she met the love of her life, Darrin Olson and married June 7, 1996.

Tammie and Darrin shared many adventures of life; they truly brought out the best in each other. They created a business together that allowed them to live all over the US; Colorado, Iowa, South Dakota, Oregon, and South Carolina. No matter where they lived, she made sure to keep her friends and family close.

She enjoyed traveling including her annual trips with friends, visiting the kids, golfing with friends and spending the summers sailing in the Pacific Northwest. She was the proud mother of Olivia and Isaac, the love and joy of her life. Her family was everything to her and her extended family was large as she had an extraordinary knack of making friends feel like family.

There should be more to tell, but due to an unforeseen, brief yet intense battle with peripheral T-cell Lymphoma, she passed at the age of 54 at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. She was surrounded by family.

Her passing leaves a void that will only be partially filled by her enduring legacy of love, laughter, support and friendship that many experienced.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband of 28 years: Darrin Olson; her two children: Olivia Olson, Denver, Colorado, and Isaac Olson, Bozeman, Montana; her brothers: Kevin (Heather) Cink, Brookings, SD; and David Cink, Madison, WI; brother-in- law: Ryan Olson; sister-in-law: Kari (Michael) Munzke; father and mother-in-law: Don and Kathy Olson; and her nieces and nephews: Brittany, Jenna, Caleb, Chloe, Maxwell, Wilson, Eliot, Gabrielle and Oliver.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
