Esther K. Vanderloo

Esther K. Vanderloo passed from this earth to the heavens on April 2, 2026 at Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls SD. Arrangements with Barnett Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, SD.

Esther Zakrzewski was born to John and Anna (Rumpza) Zakrzewski in Waubay SD on January 17, 1934.

As a young adult she moved to Sioux Falls and worked for Manchester Baking Company for several years. Esther was a homemaker until the children were grown and she was later employed by Western Printing and Sanford Hospital until she retired at the ripe age of 84.

She was united in marriage to George E. Vanderloo on July 9, 1959.  They had four children: Terri, Michael and Kyle Vanderloo all of Sioux Falls, SD and Annamarie Vanderloo of Ft. Myers, FL.

She is survived by all of her children: Terri, Michael, Kyle and Annamarie (Greg); granddaughters: Jennifer (Pierce) Aman, Stephanie (Brian) McGregor, one great-granddaughter: Kennedy McGregor; brothers: Arnold (Judy) Zakrzewski, Harrisburg Falls, SD and Ronald (Marg) Zakrzewski, Mesa, AZ. 

Esther was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents John and Anna and several sibling sisters: Marie Christianson, Evelyn Stacy, Clara Anderson; brothers: Raymond, Henry, Arthur, John, Leonard, David, Donald, Richard & Roger.

The Funeral Service will be held at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home, 901 S Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 on April 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM.  Inurnment will be at the SD Veterans Cemetery at a later date with her beloved George.
