Clifford A. Telgren 06-26-2026
Clifford A. Telgren, 71, passed away on June 26, 2026. He was born on June 22, 1955, in Camp Zama, Japan, Cliff and was the son of Arden and Yoshiko Telgren. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
Following his military service, he spent much of his professional life working in the insurance industry.
Cliff was a man who enjoyed life on his own terms. He loved spending time on the golf course and played as often as the weather would allow. He was an avid fan of professional football and rarely passed up the chance to place a friendly wager on a game. He appreciated a good glass of wine, enjoyed weekly cribbage games with close friends, and looked forward to the laughter those gatherings brought.
One of Cliff’s favorite pastimes was traveling with his mother to play bingo. Some of their favorite spots included Mystic Lake, Jackpot Junction, and the VFW in Brookings. Those who knew him well also knew that while he enjoyed cards, he had little patience for family games of Michigan Rummy, a fact that still brings smiles to those who loved him.
More than anything, Cliff valued the people in his life. He was a devoted father and grandfather, a cherished son and brother, and a trusted friend. His quiet loyalty, sense of humor, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Cliff was preceded in death by his son, Jason Telgren, and his father, Arden Telgren.
He is survived by his mother: Yoshiko Telgren; his sister: Nancy (Greg) Rodriguez; his daughter: Katee (Bruce) Paine; grandchildren: Hunter and Abbie Telgren, and Hudson and Eli Paine; Stacie Telgren and many extended family members and dear friends.
A Military Burial will be held at the Sioux Falls National Cemetery on July 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the VFW in Brookings, South Dakota.
The family invites those who knew and loved Cliff to join them in sharing memories, stories, and a toast to a life well lived.
