Burdette F. Maurice

Burdette F. Maurice, 89, passed away peacefully at his home with family present on December 20. He was born on May 8, 1920 to Joseph and Alvina (Dahms) Maurice. He was 1 of 10 children. He grew up on the family farm in Woonsocket, SD. He was in the CCC's for 1 year. Burdette was in the Army for 5 years and stationed for 6 months in San Francisco where he was assigned to the French Delegation as chauffeur and quarter master of the motor pool. He worked for Morrell's, was a manager and a buyer for Shrivers for draperies and Daytons for rugs and was a salesman for both Iseman and Anderson Mobile Home in Rapid City and Sioux Falls. He worked for Prudential for 20 years as an insurance agent. He won many awards for salesman of replica rolex the month and retired in 1982. He was united in marriage to Silvina M. Schmitz on January 8, 1943 in Garden City, KS. Burdette is survived by his wife: Silvina, Sioux Falls; children: Joyce (Dennis) Williams, Pierre, SD, Roger (Becky) Maurice, Menomonee Falls, WI, Marlys Sundby, Sioux Falls, Eugene (Terrie) Maurice, Sioux Falls; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters and a son, Robert Maurice. A favorite past time he shared with his wife was dancing with their friends at various dance clubs. He loved playing cards, especially Rook. He liked to golf with his sons. He especially loved being outside in his yard and spending time with all of his family. Visitation will begin at 5 PM in our hublot replica chapel with the Rosary at 6:45PM and a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10 AM at St. Lambert Church with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery will Full Military Rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #628.
