Luella E. Radel

Luella E. Radel, 83, passed away February 9, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. She was born on December 21, 1926 in Olivet, South Dakota to Emanuel and Annie (Weiger) Mehlhaff. She was united in marriage to Harley Radel on December 30, 1945 in Tripp, South Dakota. The couple farmed in Parkston area until 1960 when they moved to Sioux Falls and worked for the Baptist Seminary until Harley's death in 1977. Luella then went to work for Sioux Valley Hospital until she retired. She then became a senior companion until her health got bad. Luella is survived by her son: Richard and his wife, Lowana, Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren: Christina and her husband, Marty, Sioux Falls, SD, Robert and his wife, Missy, Vancouver, WA; one great-grandchild: Samantha; two sisters and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents and three children. Visitation will be Thursday, 5-8 PM with Family present from 6-8 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
