Karen Dee Reiter

Karen Dee Reiter, 75, passed away at Sanford USD Medical Center on June 4th, 2010. She had a courageous battle with Parkinson Syndrome and God finally called her to be by his side. She was the glue that held the family together. She was born in Montrose SD on February 1, 1935 to Connie and May (Wheeler) Hart. She attended Montrose High School. Karen met her soul mate, LeRoy Reiter and they were married at St. Joseph Cathedral Church on May 9, 1953 and were married for 57 years. LeRoy was by her side until her last breath. From this marriage she had 5 children, Kim Reiter from Sioux Falls; Tim Reiter from Sioux Falls; Tony Reiter from Sioux Falls; Josh Reiter from Sioux Falls; and Jill (Reiter) Hoggarth from Canon City CO. All will be lost without her. She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Karen lived her life for her children and grandchildren; they all were her reason for living. She was a vibrant, outgoing, beautiful woman who touched the lives of everyone with her smile and laugh. She loved playing tennis, tanning, sewing, shopping and being with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was our rock that we all could count on anytime. She also has surviving siblings: Connie Ciotta from Sioux Falls; Bonnie Gore from Orlando FL; Terry Hart from Solona Beach CA; Colleen Reiter from Sioux City IA; Sharon Whitham from Sioux Falls; Gale Hart from Sioux Falls and Jan Hart from Sioux Falls.
