Eva Joan Prochniak

Eva Joan Prochniak passed away at age 90 at Bethany Lutheran Home on March 8, 2011. She was born on November 16, 1920 to Mike and Agnes (Blixt) Chukuske in Sioux City, Iowa. She married Lawrence Prochniak on September 27, 1941 in Fairmont, Minnesota. They moved to Sioux Falls and owned and operated a plumbing business there until retirement. Lawrence passed away on February 21, 2002. She leaves a son, Roger, and his wife Karen of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren Cara McDonald (Chad) of Rapid City, SD; Brent Prochniak of Pierre, SD; five great-grandchildren; sisters Rose Theobald and Ruth Schultz of Fairmont, MN and Helen Lange of Burnsville, MN; brothers Jim Chukuske (Carol) of Welcome, MN and Albert Chukuske (Margaret) of North Highlands, CA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Agnes; her husband, Lawrence; sisters, Agnes Chukuske and Mary Theobald; and brothers Bill and Bob Chukuske. Visitation will be Friday, 5 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM followed by the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 10:30 AM at Christ the King Church.
