Larry Lee Jorgensen

Larry Lee Jorgensen was called home on March 18, 2011 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 67. He was born to Elmer and Lorraine (Overgard) Jorgensen on November 12, 1943 and attended school in Viborg, moving to and graduating from Montrose High School. He was united in marriage to Donna Jacobs on November 24, 1962. He enjoyed a life-long career in the trucking industry, employed by All-American Freight, Rude Trucking, Quast/Vitran Express, retiring in 2008. He was multi-talented, enjoying remodeling houses, rebuilding and restoring cars, boats, and anything in between. Special interests included camping, fishing, boating, hunting, archery, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and family. He was also active with community involvement in city council, volunteer fireman, coaching and playing many sports, as well as the community garden. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He will truly be missed by his family and many friends. Grateful for having shared his life is his wife: Donna of Montrose; sons: Scott of Montrose, Craig (Judy) of Dell Rapids, Brad of Montrose; one daughter: Shelly (Russ) Healy of Hartford, SD; ten grandchildren: Brittney Roby, Karlie and Chloe Jorgensen, Makayla and Christa Hillman-Healy, Colin, Carter, and Kianna Healy, Cole and Kailee Jorgensen; one brother: Glen (Janet) of Scotland, SD; two sisters: Elaine Bak, Wisner, NE, Judy (Tom) Gordon, Scotland, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Harlan Bak. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, 5 PM at St. Patrick's Church in Montrose with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Church.
