Gregory Pehl

Gregory G. Pehl, 62, died Sept. 19, 2011 following complications from a stroke. He was born March 9, 1949 in Hartford, CT. He graduated from Enfield High School in Enfield, CT in 1967, and Creighton University in 1971. He married Peggy McGreevy on December 31, 1971 in Sioux Falls. He worked for the state of South Dakota, in the Dept of Revenue from 1973-1984. He owned and operated Travel Pro Inc from 1984-1995, and traveling was one of his great passions. He later worked for Dakota Commodities until retiring in 2004. He enjoyed a wide variety of activities like scuba diving, hiking, fly fishing, running, and cross country skiing. He was an avid reader and enjoyed debating current events. He loved good food and drink, and being around people. Survivors include Peggy McGreevy, his son, Matthew Pehl of Sioux Falls, his daughter, Erin Keetso of Albuquerque, NM, his grandson, Owen "Acorn" Keetso of Albuquerque, NM, his brother, Martin Pehl of Enfield, CT, and his two sisters, Maureen Krauss of West Hartford, CT, and Christine Switz of Sharon, MA. A Celebration of Life conducted by family and friends will be 10 AM Saturday, October 1 at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
