Geraldine "Geri" Foy, 74, passed away September 29, 2011 at Sanford Hospital after a long illness. Geraldine Elizabeth Ruppert was born June 14, 1937 to Frank and Elsie Ruppert on a farm north of Parker, South Dakota. She graduated from Parker High School in 1955. After high school, she went to work for Hooper Holmes Credit Bureau in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she developed a lifelong friendship. On November 23, 1957 she married the love of her life, James Foy. She devoted her life to raising her six children. She was a den mother for cub scouts and also a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of St. Joseph's Cathedral Church and Cathedral Group 56. Geraldine is survived by: her husband; four sons: Dan (Mei-li) Foy of Roanoke, VA, Shawn (Stephanie) Foy of Sioux Falls, SD, Shane Foy of Sioux Falls, and Todd Foy of Sioux Falls; a daughter: Shannon (Chris) Pearson of Sioux Falls, SD; five granddaughters: Danyelle, Angela, Bethany, Rayna and Colleen; two grandsons: Nathan and Bret; two sisters: Rosemary (Kenny) Dains of Sioux Falls and Ramona (Harry) Hybertson of Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Doug Foy; her sister and brother-in-law: Monica (Roger) Wachendorf. Visitation will be Monday, 5 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 10 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
