Anna Leona McAreavey

Anna Leona McAreavey, passed away peacefully August 14, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. She reached the age of 92 years, 8 months and 8 days. Anna was born on December 6, 1914 to John and Anna (Ebersviller) McAreavey in Montrose, South Dakota. She graduated from Montrose High School. She started work at John Morrell Inc. on June 4, 1941. She retired in November 1976 after 35 years of service. Anna was a long time member of St. Joseph Cathedral. Anna is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. Her parents, sisters: Mary McAreavey and Marcene Kirkpatrick; brothers: John and Martin; and long time friend: Art Moe preceded her in death. Visitation will be Friday, 4 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM followed by the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 10 AM at St. Joseph Cathedral with burial at St. Patrick Cemetery in Montrose.
