Diane Cecelia Thompson, 67, passed away May 16, 2012 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. She was born Diane Cecelia Eidenshink on February 21, 1945 in Sioux Falls. Diane graduated from Cathedral High School. She started her career shortly after graduation, working at Children's Hospital and School for over forty years. In December of 1984, her husband Dick and she started caring for foster children. They cared for 16 children and handled a lot of respit care. They had taken guardianship of 2 children and adopted two children. Diane dedicated her life to her "kids" continuing their care after her retirement. We are all blessed to have had Diane in our lives; she will be remembered with love and laughter, knowing that she is now at peace with her loved ones already passed. Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard, son Gregory, daughter Susie, brother Elmer, sister Lorraine and her parents. Survivors include her daughters Glenda Thompson, Sioux Falls, Cyndi (Earl) McGee, Great Bend, KS, Val (Byron) Blackburn, Caldwell, ID, sisters Norma, Lucille and Karen and many friends. A Funeral Service will be Saturday, 11 AM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
