Mary L. Bucklin

Mary L. Bucklin, 89, of 115 South Lyndale Avenue, died Monday, March 31, 2008 in the same home she was born in. Mrs. Bucklin was born February 18, 1919 to Walter and Claudia (Fleming) McCart in Sioux Falls. Mary was united in marriage to Robert Bucklin on May 10, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Mary took great pleasure in spending time with her family. She worked for Brown and Saenger for many years. From 1955 to 1960, they ran Bucklin's General Store in Elkton, SD. From 1960 to 1970, they ran Bucklin's Jack and Jill in Parker, SD. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and the Cathedral Club. Survivors include her children: Richard and his wife, Jane Bucklin, Cathy and the late Ike Kelly, Danny Bucklin, Sandy Busch and Barney Bucklin; numerous grandchildren; sisters-in-law: LaVonne McCart, Fern McCart and Elaine McCart; brother-in-law: Ted Hitzing; cousin: Dorothy and the late Lyle Lewis; many nieces and nephews; and loving neighbors: Bonnie and Val. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Earl, Harold, Jack, Dick and Don; and sister: Georgia (Tottie). Visitation will be Thursday, 4 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Service at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 10 AM at St. Joseph Cathedral with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
