Richard "Dick" Charles Enright

Richard "Dick" Charles Enright died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at The Dougherty Hospice House. Richard was born March 10, 1931 in Brookings South Dakota to Charles and Carol (Blakeslee) Enright. He went to school in Brookings until the family moved to San Diego in 1940. After WWII the family moved to Sioux Falls where he graduated from Washington High School in 1950. He attended the University of South Dakota, graduating in 1954. He served in the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1956. Mr. Enright married Elizabeth Gardien O'Connor at St. Joseph's Church, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on February 1, 1958. The couple moved to Sioux Falls in 1959. They are the parents of Mary K. Enright, Sioux Falls, SD; Elizabeth (Betsy) G. (Hank) Brummer and grandchildren Benjamin, Sara, Alexander and Nathan, Woodbury MN; Charles F. (Karen) Enright and grandchildren Jamie, Jacob and Garret, Indianapolis IN; Margaret C. (Conrad) Kovash and grandson Andrew, Spokane WA; Catherine A. Enright, Aurora CO; Jane W. (David) Grimme and grandchildren John, William, Daniel and Gregory, Manila, The Philippines. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his second mother, Ruth Kendall Enright and his brother John. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Parish, Sioux Falls SD, or The Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls SD. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5:30 PM with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
