Melva D. Langin, 79, of Sioux Falls passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Sanford Hospice Cottage. Melva was born on September 19, 1928 in Sioux Falls to Melvin and Tillie (VanderLinde) Wierenga. She was united in marriage to Leland J. Langin on October 2, 1948 in Sioux Falls. He preceded her in death in 1989. The couple had four children: Michael (Sheri), Wyanet, IL, Tashia, Sioux Falls, SD, Roy (Renee), Sioux Falls. SD, and Keith (Londa), Sioux Falls, SD. Survivors include her 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Melva was active in bowling, cards and the Women's Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul for many years. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be Sunday, 4 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM followed by the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 10 AM at St. Joseph Cathedral with burial to follow at Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
