Mary Harris
11-14-2010

Mary Jean Harris, 55, passed away November 14, 2010 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls surrounded by her family. Mary was born on October 7, 1955 to Ernest and Kay (Carnicle) Davis in Sioux Falls. Mary enjoyed many different things such as, reading books, getting her nails done, relaxing in the hot tub and pool, playing darts, and shooting pool. Anyone that knows Mary also knows she had a unique ability to befriend a variety of different people with her humor and one of a kind charm. Mary, was married at age sixteen October 2nd, 1972 to her devoted husband Michael. They shared a good portion of their lives in the small town of Good Thunder MN, where Mary enjoyed working as a hair stylist and surrounding herself with loving friends, who she remained in close contact with long after moving to Sioux Falls. In Sioux Falls Mary worked as ipass pay online a manager at Kay's Casino for many years. Mary had a great talent for cooking, she even earned her self the nickname of "Potato Salad Mary," with her ability to make a variety of meals from the cook book she stored within her mind. She never wrote down her recipes, but she was known for her delicious entrees and would only share her secrets to those who would take the time to cook with her. Mary was preceded in death by her father Ernest Davis, brother Jay Davis, ipass pay and her sister Marie Davis. Mary was survived by her husband Michael of 38 years, son Jameson Harris, and daughter Kayla Harris of Sioux Falls, SD, her mother Katherine "Kay" Davis of Sioux Falls, SD, sister Marlys Lindner of Sioux Falls, SD, brother John (Bobbi) Davis of Gilbert, AZ, brother Jeff (Patty) Davis of Sioux Falls, SD, and many other relatives and friends from all over A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, 12:00 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home. With family present at 11:00 AM.
