Carol Gene Stanga

Carol Gene Stanga, 82, passed away March 14, 2011. Carol was born on March 3, 1929 to Frank and Dorcas (Stevens) Stanga in Salem, South Dakota. He graduated from Canistota High School and later attended South Dakota State University. Carol later served the US Army during the Korean War. On December 13, 1950, Carol was united in marriage to Monica Carey in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1952. He was a member of Christ the King Church. Carol is survived by his children: daughter: Cindy Czerny of Sioux Falls, SD; son: Michael (Patty) Stanga of Greensville, SC; daughter: Kim (Todd) Sargent of Brandon, SD; brother: Kenneth (Nancy) Stanga of Sioux Falls, SD; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; friend: Lora VanDyke. Visitation will be Friday, 6PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM followed by the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 10:30 AM at Christ the King Church with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Salem, South Dakota.
