Angeline “Angie” Lenore Tvedt was born in Humboldt, SD to Stephen and Rosella (Zimmer) O'Hara on May 6, 1923. She graduated from high school in 1941 and came to Sioux Falls as a young woman and worked at fine retail clothing stores. On December 1, 1945, Angie married her lifelong partner, Jacob Tvedt. They were married for 63 years.
In her early career, Angie was President of City Federation. She was very involved with the Cathedral of St. Joseph; guiding tours of the church and later was a teacher's aide on the junior high level. She was instrumental in the start up of Prince of Peace. As the Director of Sales, she worked with the first residents of the adult living center.
Angie was always full of life, bringing a smile to all who knew or met her. She loved to dance and tell stories. She was proud of her Irish Heritage and even had Jake (a true Norwegian) looking like a leprechaun every March 17th. Angie was a loyal wife, caring mother and loving grandmother. She passed away July 14, 2014 at Sanford Hospital.
Angie is survived by daughters: Patti (Phil) Heuer, Minnetonka, MN, and Mary Tvedt, Sioux Falls; grandson: Mike (Lisa) Dresch and granddaughter: Amy Dresch; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Jacob, and brothers: Joe, S. John O'Hara; and sisters: Rosella McCoy and Mary Clark.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM followed by the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 9:30 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
